Tax Partner – Confidential Search

 

Job Description

 

Our client, one of the fastest growing full service accounting firms in California, is seeking a Tax Partner for its office in Southern California.

We are confidentially searching for a Tax Partner who is a strong technical subject matter expert to manage clients and tax engagements with interesting domestic and international companies in various industries including manufacturing and technology industries.

 

The selected Partner will be responsible for:

 
  1. Management of client engagements encompassing:
  2. Retention, and development and of a high quality team
  3. Technical oversight of tax work for domestic and international clients
  4. Management of client relationships
  5. Quality control of delivered work product
  6. Business and process improvements
  7. Understand and manage firm risk on tax services
  8. Manage, develop, train, and mentor staff on tax projects
  9. Thought leader and technical expert on complex tax returns
  10. Consult on complex tax matters
  11. Manage tax research projects 

 

Required Skills

 

The ideal candidate will possess:

 
  1. Current or recent experience as a Tax Senior Manager, Director or Partner in the Tax Services Practice in a Big-4, national, or large regional sized Public Accounting firm, with a clear progression of career advancement
  2. Demonstrated ability to generate business through current client contacts and networking
  3. Active CPA required; MST, JD, and/or LLM highly preferred
  4. 10-15 years progressive federal tax consulting and/or compliance experience in public accounting
  5. Proven success in a leadership role managing high level clients and high performing teams
  6. Experience managing high level engagements with in-bound and out-bound tax clients
  7. Client industry experience in multiple industries including Manufacturing and/or Technology sector
  8. Strong Federal Compliance experience
  9. Experience with ASC740 required
  10. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
