    Parts & Fleet Maintenance Scheduler

     

    This role will work directly under the Fleet Maintenance Manager- and is responsible for keeping the parts side organized while also helping ensure vehicles stay on their preventive-Maintenance schedule.

    Supporting the Manager in maintaining an organized, efficient, and well stocked parts operation while helping ensure all company vehicles and fleet equipment receive scheduled maintenance in a timely manner. This position will coordinate parts purchasing and inventory, track maintenance needs, communicate with maintenance personnel, department managers and schedule vehicles for routine and required maintenance. The goal of this position is to help keep the fleet operating safely and efficiently while minimizing unnecessary downtime and ensuring maintenance and parts records remain accurate and up to date.

     

    Key Responsibilities would be:

    1. Order parts, supplies, stock and store parts in a neat and organized manner on shelves, (not in the floor).
    2. Maintain appropriate inventory levels of commonly used parts and supplies.
    3. Receive, inspect, organize, and properly stock incoming parts.
    4. Maintain accurate parts inventory records.
    5. Monitor inventory levels and identify parts that need to be reordered.
    6. Work with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best pricing, availability, and delivery information.
    7. Maintain an organized parts area so parts can be located quickly and efficiently.
    8. Track parts used for individual vehicles and maintenance repairs when required.
    9. Help identify opportunities to reduce parts costs and eliminate unnecessary purchases.
    10. Assist with establishing and maintaining preferred vendors and pricing.
    11. Assist the Manager in keeping all vehicles on their required maintenance schedules
    12. Maintain accurate maintenance schedules for company vehicles and equipment.
    13. Schedule vehicles for routine services, inspections, oil changes, tire service, repairs, and other required maintenance.
    14. Coordinate with drivers, department managers, dispatchers, and maintenance personnel to get vehicles into the shop at the appropriate time.
    15. Monitor upcoming maintenance requirements and communicate them before they become overdue.
    16. Assist with coordinating outside repairs or services when necessary.
    17. Track parts purchases, usage, and inventory levels.
    18. This person must communicate clearly and professionally and be proactive in following up on maintenance and parts needs, rather than waiting for problems to develop.
