Parts Clerk

Overview:

ELCO Chevrolet Cadillac is currently searching for a Parts Clerk to work in shipping and receiving in the dealership's Parts Department.  The Parts Clerk is responsible for the receipt, stocking, sorting, and delivery of automotive parts and accessories.  This position requires careful attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to working on a team.  Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:15 am to 5 pm with weekly pay starting at $17 hourly.  This is a union position, so monthly dues are required along with an initiation fee.

Responsibilities:

The Parts Clerk responsibilities include:

• Receive and unpack both ground and air mail delivered auto parts.
• Assist the Service Technicians with ordering, returning, and retrieving auto parts.
• Properly sort and stock received parts.
• Take routine inventory of all received parts and audit current stocked items.
• Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records.
• Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products in order to ensure that packing specifications are met.
• Mark and label containers, container tags, or products, using marking tools.
• Prepare shipping and receiving paperwork on multiple items.
• File copies of orders received, or post orders on records.
• Seal containers or materials, using glues, fasteners, nails, and hand tools.
• Answer phones and take messages as needed.

Qualifications:

• Must have a valid drivers license with no more than 2 moving violations and/or at-fault accidents on driving record in the past 3 years.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• No drug or alcohol related conviction on driving record in the past 3 years (DUI/DWI)
• Must be willing to take a preemployment drug screening test.
• Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs with extensive sitting, walking, standing, and crouching.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
• Previous parts or warehousing experience a plus but not required.
• Must be able to work Monday through Friday, 8:15 am to 5 pm.
