Position OverviewOur client is seeking an experienced Parts Director to lead parts operations across multiple dealerships based in South Georgia. This individual will oversee the group's retail and wholesale parts business while helping develop and launch a new wholesale automotive aftermarket parts distribution operation serving repair facilities.The Parts Director will be responsible for improving inventory performance, strengthening manufacturer and supplier relationships, organizing outside sales efforts, and creating consistent processes across the parts departments and storage locations. This is an opportunity to help build a growing operation from the ground up and advise ownership on its long-term strategy.The ideal candidate combines strong automotive parts experience with the ability to build processes, develop external sales, and manage the operational and financial aspects of a multi-location distribution business.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership and oversight for parts operations across multiple dealership locationsEstablish consistent procedures, reporting, and performance standards throughout the groupManage parts inventory, including stocking levels, turnover, aging, obsolescence, returns, and availabilityMonitor purchasing and develop strong relationships with manufacturers, suppliers, and vendorsProduce and analyze distribution, inventory, sales, and profitability reports across all locationsLead the development and growth of the group's new parts distribution operation.Create an organized outside sales strategy targeting independent repair shops and other commercial customers.Identify new business opportunities and expand the group's wholesale customer base and market presenceDevelop pricing, delivery, customer service, and account-management processes for the distribution businessOversee accounts receivable associated with wholesale customers, including credit practices, collections, and past-due accountsEvaluate the group's five parts departments and storage locations to determine opportunities for centralization and improved efficiencyOrganize the commercial, operational, and logistical aspects of the distribution networkMonitor departmental performance, sales, margins, expenses, and profitabilityWork closely with the Fixed Operations Director, Service Director, dealership leadership, and owner to support service operations and the group's overall growth strategyServe as a knowledgeable advisor to ownership as the group develops its parts distribution and external sales capabilitiesQualificationsSignificant automotive parts leadership experience, preferably in a multi-store dealership group, wholesale parts operation, wholesale automotive aftermarket parts or automotive parts distribution businessExperience with a Ford OEM franchise is strongly preferredCandidates with leadership experience at organizations such as AutoZone, O'Reilly Auto Parts, or another large automotive parts retailer or distributor will also be consideredDemonstrated knowledge of inventory management, turnover, aging, obsolescence, returns, purchasing, and supplier relationsExperience building or managing wholesale, commercial, or outside parts sales programsStrong understanding of accounts receivable, customer credit, and collectionsAbility to develop processes and structure within a new or growing operationStrong analytical skills with experience reviewing inventory, sales, margin, and operational reportsProven ability to lead teams across multiple locations
