The Parts Room Coordinator plays a critical role within the Maintenance Department by supporting equipment reliability and plant operations through effective maintenance purchasing and spare parts inventory management.

Responsible for managing maintenance inventory, stock room organization, CMMS activities, purchasing support, and spare parts coordination to support reliable plant operations. Ensures accurate inventory levels, proper identification and storage of maintenance parts, timely procurement of materials, and effective organization of maintenance resources. Supports equipment reliability initiatives by improving parts availability, reducing downtime associated with parts shortages, maintaining accurate inventory records, and promoting efficient maintenance processes while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.


Hours: 1st Shift M-F

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and manage maintenance spare parts inventory to ensure appropriate stock levels are available to support plant operations and equipment reliability.
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders to maintain established minimum and maximum inventory levels for production and maintenance materials.
  • Perform routine and monthly cycle counts of spare parts, production supplies, ingredients, packaging materials, and other inventory items as assigned.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy.
  • Receive, inspect, unload, and verify incoming deliveries, ensuring materials and parts are received accurately and stored appropriately.
  • Organize, label, catalog, and maintain stock room inventory to improve accessibility, accuracy, and overall housekeeping standards.
  • Identify maintenance parts and verify specifications to ensure correct materials are sourced for equipment repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with vendors regarding part availability, pricing, lead times, and order status.
  • Process purchase requisitions and support purchase order creation, tracking, and follow-up to ensure timely delivery of critical parts and materials.
  • Expedite critical orders and communicate delivery updates to support urgent maintenance and operational needs.
  • Maintain accurate CMMS records including parts information, inventory transactions, work order support documentation, and related maintenance records.
  • Support maintenance planning activities by improving spare parts availability, assisting with preventive maintenance preparation, and maintaining organized maintenance resources.
  • Stock production and maintenance supplies, including parts, materials, labels, caps, and other operational supplies as needed.
  • Prepare month-end inventory reports and provide accurate inventory information to the Accounting and Procurement departments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to inventory transactions, purchasing activities, receiving records, and maintenance support activities.
  • Support maintenance technicians by ensuring parts and materials are available when needed to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Assist with organization and management of maintenance documents and records within the facility.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, food safety requirements, inventory procedures, and maintenance department standards.
  • Promote cost control initiatives through improved inventory management, reduced part loss, and elimination of unnecessary expedited purchases.
  • Maintain housekeeping and organization standards within the stock room, maintenance areas, and assigned workspaces.
  • Follow all safety requirements including personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout awareness, and facility safety programs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Education
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or technical training in Supply Chain Management, Inventory Control, Maintenance Technology, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.

Experience
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in inventory control, stock room management, maintenance support, purchasing, manufacturing, or related experience preferred.
• Experience managing spare parts inventory, cycle counting, or warehouse operations preferred.
• Experience working with CMMS systems, inventory management systems, ERP systems, or purchasing systems preferred.
• Experience working in food manufacturing, dairy processing, or regulated industrial environments preferred.

Skills
• Strong knowledge of inventory control practices, stock room organization, and material management processes.
• Ability to identify parts, verify specifications, and support maintenance purchasing activities.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping.
• Ability to research information, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and inventory management systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Maintenance, Production, Purchasing, Warehouse, and external suppliers.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Working Conditions (Physical Demands)
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally move heavier materials with assistance.
• Ability to unload deliveries, move inventory, and stock materials throughout the facility.
• Ability to work in manufacturing, warehouse, maintenance, and stock room environments.
• Exposure to industrial equipment, noise, dust, moisture, refrigerated areas, and varying temperatures.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment as required and trained.
• Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and comply with all safety requirements.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime, weekends, holidays, and emergency support as operational needs require.

 

Pay:
  $20.00-$27.00/hour*
