Bralys Ace Hardware is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Parts Specialist to support our Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE) and Service Department. This position is responsible for managing parts inventory, processing warranties, building equipment, creating repair orders, and ensuring excellent customer service for our STIHL, mowers, and power equipment customers.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys mechanical equipment, organization, inventory management, and working in a fast-paced retail environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Parts & Inventory Management
- Receive, stock, organize, and maintain parts inventory.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and inventory audits.
- Research and identify correct replacement parts for customers and technicians.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and pricing.
- Monitor inventory levels and recommend replenishment orders.
Purchasing & Vendor Relations
- Create and enter purchase orders with parts vendors.
- Receive and verify incoming shipments.
- Process vendor returns and credits when necessary.
- Communicate with manufacturers and suppliers regarding parts availability and order status.
Warranty Administration
- File and process manufacturer warranty claims.
- Track warranty submissions and reimbursements.
- Maintain warranty documentation and records.
- Coordinate with technicians and customers regarding warranty repairs.
Service Department Support
- Create repair tickets and service work orders.
- Schedule and track repair jobs.
- Assist with customer communication regarding repair status.
- Ensure service records are complete and accurate.
Equipment Assembly & Preparation
- Assemble lawn mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, generators, and other outdoor power equipment.
- Perform pre-delivery inspections and setup.
- Ensure all equipment meets manufacturer standards before customer delivery.
- Assist with showroom displays and equipment merchandising.
Customer Service
- Assist customers with parts identification and ordering.
- Recommend maintenance items and accessories.
- Provide basic product knowledge and troubleshooting assistance.
- Deliver the helpful service customers expect from Ace Hardware.
Shop Support
- Sharpen chainsaw chains.
- Assist with equipment intake and customer pickups.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized parts and service area.
- Support technicians and management with additional operational tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude preferred.
- Experience with outdoor power equipment, small engines, STIHL products, or mower parts preferred.
- Strong organizational and inventory management skills.
- Ability to learn parts lookup systems and manufacturer portals.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail.
