Position Overview:

The Parts Technician is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations by receiving, organizing, staging, and distributing parts required for production. This role ensures production orders are accurately palletized, inventory is maintained, and materials are delivered to the appropriate departments in a timely manner to support efficient manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments while maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting production schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

Production & Material Support

  • Pull, stage, and palletize designated parts to fulfill production orders and manufacturing requirements.
  • Coordinate the timely transfer and delivery of materials to manufacturing and other internal departments.
  • Work from spreadsheets, production schedules, and inventory reports to ensure production needs are met.
  • Communicate with manufacturing personnel regarding production requirements, inventory availability, and material requests.

Inventory Management

  • Receive, inspect, unload, and verify incoming inventory against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Identify, label, store, and organize inventory to maintain efficient warehouse operations.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through data entry and inventory management systems.
  • Conduct cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Process returned materials and return items to inventory following established procedures.

Shipping & Receiving

  • Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and report shortages or damaged materials.
  • Verify quantities and condition of received items prior to acceptance.
  • Assist with inventory transfers and internal material movement.
  • Maintain accurate receiving documentation and inventory records.

Compliance & Safety

  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, manufacturing support, or material handling preferred.
  • Experience working with inventory management systems, spreadsheets, or ERP software preferred.
  • Forklift operating experience preferred; forklift certification is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet production deadlines.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel and data entry.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment, if certified.
  • Ability to use computers, handheld scanners, and inventory systems for extended periods.
