New Hire Experience:
1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a ten-year maximum

Job Summary:
To maintain the inventory of parts, supplies and materials necessary for the maintenance, upkeep and repair of district vehicles.
All Transportation employees may be subject to pre-employment drug testing and alcohol testing, as well as random testing throughout employment. Due to federal safety regulation, this includes marijuana/THC/CBD. Any employee having a confirmed positive test shall not be eligible for employment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regular and on-time attendance required
- Issue parts to mechanics
- Assist procurement specialist in maintenance of perpetual inventory throughout fiscal year
- Assist in preparation of year-end inventory and in preparation of appropriate forms
- Assist procurement specialist in purchasing of parts and in needed clerical work
- Keep parts room neat and orderly
- Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
- Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Arizona Driver's License with clean driving record
- Minimum three years' experience in auto parts field
- Ability to obtain a class B CDL with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements
Preferred Qualifications:High School education or equivalent preferred
- High School education or equivalent
- Inventory control experience

- Must be familiar with various types of vehicles (i.e. sedans, trucks, school buses, vans, etc) and the parts related to these vehicles

- Computer proficiency to include use of basic software applications (Word, Excel, etc)
- Ability to work overtime and to change schedules with minimal notice; willingness to work non-regular hours (weekends, night shift, swing shift, holidays)
- Willingness to pursue educational goals to maintain basic job skills

- Uses hand and power tools that require good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Lifting & Force: The job involves lifting and moving objects with the following frequency:
- Constantly: up to 30 pounds of force
- Frequently: up to 30 pounds of force
- Occasionally: up to 50 pounds of force
Working Environment: You may encounter some of the following conditions:
- Drivers work both inside the vehicle and outdoors when inspecting or fueling the vehicle
- Exposure to fumes, dust, chemicals (e.g., cleaning solvents, oils, anti-freeze)
- Travel, odors, dust, and outside elements
- Limited workspace, loud noises, and bloodborne pathogens
- Indoor garage or workshop with exposure to noise, grease, oil, and mechanical equipment
- Occasional outdoor work, especially if performing maintenance on-site (e.g., school parking lots or during road calls)
