Party Chief Job Description

As a Survey Party Chief, you will be responsible for leading a team in various aspects of projects. You will play a crucial role in collecting accurate measurements and data to support our construction company and clients.

Party Chief Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team conducting field layout and full range of as-builts.
  • Utilities W-S-D Earth topo etc. with well kept noted to be turned in daily.
  • Meets and coordinates daily activities with field Superintendents and Foremen.
  • Assigns and monitors work for survey crew members.
  • Manages the use and maintenance of survey equipment to ensure it is in proper work condition by conducting regular inspections and calibrations.
  • Ensures accurate collection and recording of field survey data through use of conventional GPS system and conventional TOPCON 55 series Total station, Auto & Laser level, etc.
  • We utilize Topcon FC-5000-6000-6400 along with VR-HR Rovers.
  • Maintains accurate field notes and survey records for future reference and project documentation.
  • Adheres to company safety guidelines and regulations while ensuring the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required when on all jobsites; to include the use of other safety equipment following company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the assigned company vehicle and survey equipment assigned to the crew; overseeing maintenance, inventory and protection.
  • Trains crew members as needed.
Requirements
  • Ability to assign, prioritize and delegate work, read and interpret civil engineering plans, collect, calculate and analyze survey data and travel to work to different job sites as required.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all company employees to include all departments, and other contractor representatives as needed.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to deliver high quality surveying.
