West Sound Workforce is seeking dependable and detail-oriented individuals to serve as temporary Passenger Experience Surveyors for a transit research project supporting service improvements across Snohomish County. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-impact initiative focused on understanding and enhancing the rider experience across local transportation services.
As a surveyor, you’ll work in the field, primarily riding along assigned transit routes to observe and document the passenger experience during scheduled trips. Assignments will vary, with routes concentrated in the Everett area and surrounding communities, including both urban and more rural service areas. Flexibility, reliability, and a high level of situational awareness are essential in this role.
This is a field-based position ideal for individuals who are observant, adaptable, and comfortable working in dynamic transit environments. A professional, respectful approach and comfort working in settings serving individuals with diverse mobility, cognitive, and communication needs are essential to success in this role.
Shift information:- Shifts vary and may include morning and afternoon start times based on project needs
What you will do as a Passenger Experience Surveyor:- Ride along assigned transit routes to observe and document the passenger experience during scheduled service trips
- Observe and record service conditions, including ease of boarding, overall travel experience, and any barriers or challenges encountered
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the integrity of all collected information, including any incidental observations involving passengers
- Represent the organization and project partners in a professional and respectful manner while working in public-facing and accessibility-focused environments
