The Pastor's responsibilities include:

Preaching and Teaching:

• Prepare and deliver weekly sermons that align with biblical principles and the theological vision of the church. 
• Teach Bible studies, discipleship classes, and other educational programs. 
• Ensure that the preaching and teaching foster spiritual growth and align with Woodland Bible Church’s doctrinal beliefs. 

Pastoral Care: 

• Provide counseling and spiritual guidance to church members, including visits to the sick, elderly, and those in crisis. 
• Lead weddings, funerals, baptisms, and other significant church ceremonies. 
• Offer support and encouragement to the congregation, fostering a caring community atmosphere. 

Elder Collaboration: 

• Work alongside the elders to uphold the vision, mission, and theological direction of Woodland Bible Church. 
• Participate in elder meetings, providing input on spiritual and administrative decisions. 
• Serve as a spiritual guide for the elder team, ensuring biblically grounded leadership within the church. 

Church Leadership: 

• Oversee the planning and execution of church services, events, and programs. 
• Support ministry leaders and volunteers in their roles, equipping them for effective ministry. 
• Work with the elders to develop and implement church growth strategies, missions, and outreach. 

Community Engagement: 

• Represent Woodland Bible Church within the local community, building relationships and engaging in outreach efforts. 
• Encourage congregational involvement in missions, community service, and evangelism. 

Administration:

• Assist in budget planning, financial stewardship, and administrative duties in collaboration with the elders. 
• Oversee church communications, including newsletters, social media, and other platforms, to maintain effective communication with members.

Education and experience

• A bachelor’s degree is desired, and a seminary degree is a plus 
• 5 years of applicable experience

Personal characteristics and qualifications

• A deep commitment to the Bible’s authority and the core doctrines of the Christian faith. Experience in a pastoral ministry or leadership within a church setting. 
• Ability to preach and teach effectively, with a heart for discipleship. 
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for pastoral care. 
• Ability to work collaboratively with the elders and church members.
