Pastry Chef - Full-Time 1st Shift

Freedom Village is proud to be a debt free Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) and has been serving seniors in South Orange County, California since 1987. Our beautiful campus includes Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Skilled Nursing. We are always seeking exceptional people with a passion for working with seniors.

Responsibilities for this position include:

• Prepare, bakes breads, cakes, pies and other specialty pastries
• Follow recipes accurately, measuring, mixing various ingredients
• Prepare food throughout the day as needed
• Responsible for fine dining desserts for specialty dining venues

The person that will thrive in this position is creative, a self-starter and knowledgeable in all aspects of desserts and pastries.

Requirements:

Maintain proper food handling, safety and sanitation standards while preparing food.

Two (2) plus years pastry experience in a restaurant, hospital or senior living retirement community setting.

Candidates must have understanding of overall food service production. Experience in quality food production and excellent dining service.

Schedule: Full-time position 6:00am to 2:30pm, Fri-Tues

Salary: $23 to $25 per hour depending upon experience.
