Hourly pay is base pay and does not include tips. Many Team Members take home an additional $5–$10 per hour in tips on top of their hourly wage.

Pastry Chefs / Gelato Batchers / Team Members

Philmore Creamery servers and team members provide excellent customer service with a smile in the Front of House (FOH), on the phone, and at catering events. While serving gelato to customers, team members are expected to have a friendly and welcoming disposition, educate customers about our products, and maintain a clean, organized, and inviting environment. We aim to be the happiest part of our customer’s day!

Our BOH/Pastry Chef & Gelato Batcher team members are responsible for producing our gelato and desserts to Philmore Creamery’s quality standards. Duties include preparing gelato bases and mixes, operating gelato batch-freezing equipment, following recipes accurately, monitoring consistency and texture, preparing inclusions and flavors, and maintaining proper food-safety and sanitation standards. Team members may also assist with gelato cakes, ice cream cakes, desserts, portioning, packaging, labeling, and preparing special orders.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, dependable, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and passionate about food and hospitality. Previous pastry, baking, gelato, or professional kitchen experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person

 

Qualifications:

• Able to follow written and verbal instructions
• Maintain a clean customer and kitchen area
• Loves gelato
• Able to lift 25 pounds
• Able to stand on feet for extended periods of time
• Multi-task
• Punctual
• Has/obtains ServSafe Food Handler’s Card within 3 weeks of hire

Job Duties

Philmore team members welcome customers and set the tone for their dining experience in FOH by:

• Being a positive representative for Philmore Creamery at all times
• Greet customers with a friendly and helpful disposition
• Operate Point of Sale
• Follow safety and sanitation guidelines
• Learn store products, packaging and services
• Maintain personal hygiene (wear a Philmore T and/or apron)
• Follow maintenance cleaning and handling of maintenance issues
• Communicate effectively with co-workers and management
• Food prep (seasonal fruit and lemons)
• Comply with the shop’s policies and procedures
• Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Maintain product quality through attention to menu items taste, appearance and texture and reports inconsistencies to the on duty manager

Compensation:

• Compensation includes hourly plus tips

** Clean and Set Dining Areas

Every team member works to keep up the appearance and cleanliness of the customer and kitchen area. During down times or in-between shifts, team members clean, sanitize, wipe down, or sweep areas where food is prepped or served. They also wipe tables, restocking dining utensils and delivery menus on tablets to ensure every guest has what they need in person or online ordering.
