    The Pastry Chef is responsible for producing quality desserts and pastries for all dining rooms across the community.

    Compensation: $72,500 to $77,000 annually, plus a 5% bonus potential.

    PRINCIPLE DUTIES:

    Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours and determines amount and type of food and supplies required for daily dessert and pastry menus. Ensures that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food are preserved

    Responsible for preparing quality desserts and pastries per standardized recipes.

    Schedules daily work assignments for the pastry team, assigning specific jobs and spot checking to ensure standards are met. Hires, supervises, and counsels the pastry team, ensuring staff members are properly trained and appropriately skilled.

    Follows all safety procedures when handling kitchen equipment and complies with department sanitation standards and personal hygiene/uniform standards.

    Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Minimum of two years experience as a pastry chef in a hotel, restaurant, club or similar fine dining establishment

    Minimum of two years supervisor and/or manager experience strongly preferred.

    Ability to plan and organize work, to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications and standards

    Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance. Knowledge of nutrition and diet

    Culinary education strongly preferred.
