Job Summary The Pastry Lead plays a key leadership role in the Pastry department, overseeing daily operations and ensuring the production of high-quality pastries that meet Ideal Market's standards for flavor, presentation, and creativity. This position is responsible for guiding and supervising the pastry team, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and delivering exceptional customer service. Responsibilities - Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the pastry team, ensuring productivity, professionalism, and adherence to company policies.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization across all areas, including shelves, refrigerators, and preparation stations.
- Ensure all pastries and desserts meet established quality, quantity, and presentation standards; promptly report any discrepancies to the Bakery Manager.
- Provide hands-on training, support, and motivation to team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Enforce Ideal Market’s safety and quality standards to minimize risks and prevent workplace accidents.
- Ensure timely production of cakes, desserts, flans, jellies, and other specialty items during peak and regular hours.
- Follow established Ideal Market recipes and preparation methods consistently.
- Decorate cakes and other baked goods with creativity and precision, including custom designs for special occasions such as birthdays and weddings.
- Inspect finished products for quality and remove any items that do not meet Ideal Market standards before display.
- Deliver outstanding customer service and address customer inquiries or concerns with professionalism and care.
- Assist with inventory control, cost management, and waste reduction as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
