    Pay: $180,000.00 - $235,000.00 per year

    Location

    Salt Lake City, UT — hybrid schedule with a strong in-office culture; associates are expected to be in the office more often than not, especially early on, to support training, collaboration, and integration.

    Note

    This role requires an active Utah bar license, active USPTO registration, and at least 2 years of patent prosecution experience; candidates with 1–4 years of experience are strongly preferred.

    Job Description

    • Draft and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications
    • Conduct invention disclosure meetings with inventors and technical stakeholders
    • Prepare and respond to Office Actions before the USPTO
    • Partner with senior attorneys on patent strategy and portfolio development
    • Collaborate across offices and practice groups on complex IP matters

    Qualifications

    • Active Utah bar license required
    • Active USPTO registration required
    • 2+ years of patent prosecution experience
    • Technical background in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field
    • Strong legal writing, analytical, and client communication skills
    • Candidates from law firm, in-house, or solo practice backgrounds considered
