Shift: 9:00 AM-5:00 PM

Pay: $55 - $60/hr

\n

Length: 3 months, Possible extension

\n

\n

Requirement:

\n

• \n
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• \n
• At least 2 years of experience specifically in acute care
• \n
• Grossing specimens and performing autopsies
• \n
• Valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Pathologists’ Assistant issued by NYSED.
• \n

\n

\n

Experience of qualification:

\n

• \n
• Prepare gross tissue sections for pathology analysis, including cutting, staining, describing gross anatomic features, dissecting, and processing surgical specimens.
• \n
• Perform human postmortem examinations, including tissue and fluid selection, external examination, dissection, and gathering information for autopsy reports.
• \n
• Maintain laboratory inventory of supplies and equipment.
• \n
• Clean and disinfect equipment.
• \n
• Calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot medical equipment.
• \n
• Complete, process, and file appropriate forms and documents.
• \n
• Follow procedures, protocols, techniques, and standards related to the gross room.
• \n
• Photograph surgical specimens and maintain quality standards for pathology specimen photographs.
• \n
• Participate in accessioning and labeling specimens.
• \n
• Store and dispose of specimens.
• \n
• Maintain reagents and equipment.
• \n
• Analyze data and prepare reports on findings.
• \n
• Maintain laboratory safety precautions and follow infection prevention procedures.
• \n
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• \n
