Job Title: Pathologists Assistant
Location: Baton Rouge, LA
Duration: 6 months, ASAP
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p
Pay: 3,100 *does not include travel reimbursement or benefits

Qualifications:
- Graduate of an NAACLS/ASCP-accredited Pathologists' Assistant program
- PA(ASCP) certification or eligibility to sit for the board exam
- Ability to work cooperatively within diverse clinical environments
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build positive working relationships with pathologists and technical staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate gross dissection and detailed description of surgical specimens across the full case spectrum - from routine biopsies to complex cancer resections
- Specimen processing and submission for histologic processing and special studies
- Rotate between PGL's privately owned laboratory (primary grossing site) and Woman's Hospital lab, ensuring broad, balanced clinical exposure
- Collaborate closely with pathologists and technical staff to maintain quality and workflow efficiency
- Contribute to lab workflow coordination and other duties as assigned
