What Youll Do
- Perform gross examination and dissection of large and complex specimens
- Conduct gross examination and dissection of small biopsies
- Prepare tissues and carry out histological processing
- Section surgical pathology specimens, including tumor triage
- Fix and process specimens, including receipt and labeling
- Assist with autopsies (adult and fetal)
- Review patient clinical information such as scans, X-rays, and lab results
- Ensure proper specimen accessioning and tissue sampling
- Support microscopic examination and frozen sectioning (preferred)
- Collaborate with medical teams to provide accurate pathology assistance
What You Need
Required:
- ASCP - PA certification
- Minimum 3 years of laboratory experience, including traveler settings
- Experience with hospital clinical laboratories and gross/anatomic specimen dissection
- Ability to work a consistent daytime schedule
Preferred:
- Skills in specimen accessioning, frozen sectioning, and postmortem examinations
- Experience with gross/microscopic photography
- Master's degree in related field
