What You'll Bring:
- Proven experience in hospital clinical laboratory operations, including macroscopic description of gross anatomic features
- Proficiency in gross examination and dissection of large and complex specimens, small biopsies, and performing tissue sampling
- Hands-on experience with histological tissue preparation, sectioning surgical pathology specimens, specimen fixation, labeling, and receipt
- Ability to review patient clinical information such as scans, x-rays, and lab results
- Knowledge of tumor triage, autopsies (adult and fetal), evisceration, and specimen processing
- Strong understanding of specimen accessioning, cutting and staining frozen sections, and postmortem examinations
- Certification: ASCP - PA (required)
Nice to Have:
- Skills in tissue gross/microscopic photography
- Experience in removal of brain and spinal cord
- Additional certifications or training in advanced pathology techniques
- Masters degree in a related field
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a hospital laboratory setting
- Prior traveler experience preferred but not required
- Certifications and experience in specimen accessioning and frozen section procedures highly valued
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work a Day shift, Monday through Friday, 12:00 PM 8:30 PM
- Willingness to participate in hospital orientation and unit-specific training
- Valid certification (ASCP - PA) is essential for consideration
- No travel required during assignment
