Job Title: Pathologists Assistant
Job Location: Los Angeles, CA
Schedule: M-F Day Shift
Dates: ASAP - Nov 9th 2026
Weekly Estimated Pay or Pay Range: $3,700 - $3,750 (Includes hourly rate, meals & incidentals, rental car, lodging, round trip flight taxed and tax-free income)
Qualifications:
Masters degree from an accredited Pathologists Assistant program
ASCP certification as a Pathologists Assistant (PA ASCP) or eligible within 6 months of hire
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pathologists Assistant preferred
Strong knowledge of surgical pathology, autopsy procedures, and histologic techniques
Experience performing frozen sections and handling complex surgical specimens
Familiarity with laboratory information systems and digital imaging tools
Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a clinical setting
Strong attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment
Knowledge of laboratory safety standards, infection control, and regulatory compliance
Key Responsibilities:
Perform gross examination, dissection, and description of a full range of surgical specimens, including simple to complex cases
Prepare and perform frozen sections and provide intraoperative consultation support
Accurately record specimen measurements, weights, and gross findings in laboratory systems
Coordinate with surgical and clinical teams to ensure proper specimen handling and tissue allocation
Prepare tissue samples for histologic processing, including fixation, inking, and sectioning
Photograph specimens and assist with documentation for clinical and research purposes
Participate in clinical case discussions and collaborate with pathologists and lab staff
Maintain compliance with CAP, CLIA, and institutional safety and quality standards
Assist with inventory management, equipment maintenance, and organization of grossing and autopsy suites
Support quality assurance initiatives, workflow improvements, and departmental education efforts
