️ Your Mission:
Working under the guidance of the Anatomic Pathology Manager and Pathologists, you’ll be the go-to expert for managing send-out requests, maintaining critical pathology records, and ensuring full regulatory compliance.
茶 What You Bring:
- High school diploma or GED, required
- 2 Year / Associate Degree in Chemical, Physical or Biological Science, preferred.
- One year frozen sectioning, accessioning, specimen pickup, and send out testing experience, preferred.
- Administrative or clinical support experience in healthcare or pathology, preferred
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and discretion

What We're Looking For:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred. Chemical, Physical or Biological Science.
- Experience: One year of relevant pathology and/or cytology specimen processing experience, preferred.
- Additional Skills (required): Knowledge of current medical terminology to perform full range of laboratory tasks.
- Knowledge of medical terminology to communicate with medical staff regarding laboratory procedures and results.
- Skill in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations.
- Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, hospital staff and the public.
- Ability to follow written protocols.

What You'll Do:
- Frozen sectioning, accessioning, specimen pickup, and sendout testing
- Communicate with physicians/requestors to collect or clarify information
- Maintain meticulous records per CAP and NHLS retention policies
- Coordinate shipping via FedEx and other carriers
- Provide timely updates and top-tier service to support Novant Health’s clinical teams
- Demonstrates knowledge of human tissue types and appropriate protocols
- Complete administrative duties, which may include but not limited to accessioning and slide send out
- Assist on FNA procedures by ensuring adequate sampling for assessment and diagnosis
- Maintain stock PAR levels (Periodic Automatic Replenishment)
