JOB SUMMARY

The Pathways Graduate Assistant (GA) reports to the Pathways/Career Center Tech & Data Assistant Director

of the Cahill Career Development Center. The GA provides Pathways student support, assists in data collection

and management, coordinates and conducts workshops/presentations, and provides overall unit support.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a 10-month Graduate Assistant position that is part-time (20 hours per week) and requires enrollment in an accredited graduate program.

Compensation: $10,000 stipend and up to $8,000 in tuition reimbursement ($4,000 per semester).

DUTIES

  • Assist students by providing Pathways-related information, answering questions and keeping regular office bhours in order to ensure completion of modules.
  • Facilitate 40+ in-person and/or online Focus 2 Review sessions per year to groups of 30+ students as a requirement of Module 1.
  • Lead training of career center peers and supervise peer interactions during walk-in VMock hours, which serves to aid students seeking assistance in understanding and implementing feedback for resumes as a requirement of Module 2.
  • Assist Assistant Directors/Career Advisors to ensure students complete required Pathways courses.
  • Assist Program Manager in the collection and analysis of data to report Career Center statistics, student outcomes (First Destination Survey) and program assessment (Pathways Courses).
  • Manage program projects (e.g., 1st Gen Student Ambassador Program, RamaPro Social Media Campaign) at discretion of Associate Director.
  • Collaborate with campus partners and student-run organizations (EOF, CSI, Athletics and Residence Life) to present workshops on various topics (Handshake, VMOCK, resumes, LinkedIn).
  • Serve as the first point of contact for all students, staff, faculty and employers in the Anisfield School of Business Career Center.
  • Create and maintain promotion of student events and registration on Handshake.
  • Represent Cahill at programs and campus-wide committees with students, faculty, and staff as needed.
  • Assist the Unit with event planning, logistics, and implementation.
  • Serve on the Unit's marketing team to promote activities and services to students (e.g., Roundtables, Career Fairs, Roadrunner Treks). Lead Social Media outreach for the department, related to events, activities and career development information.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Organizational Security Responsibilities: This position requires adherence to the organizations

information security policies and procedures. All employees share responsibility for protecting the

confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the organization's mission essential IT assets, regardless of

role. Individuals in this role are expected to apply appropriate safeguards, participate in required security

awareness training, and promptly report potential security incidents in accordance with institutional

policies.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree and current enrollment in an accredited graduate school program: counseling, higher

education or career development preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), WordPress, Photoshop and Illustrator.

Experience with project/program management or managing multiple priorities.

Ability to professionally interact with students, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni, and employer organizations.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Interest, enthusiasm, and experience working with a diverse group of students.

PREFERRED

Experience in career counseling, academic advising, student affairs, or related area.

Availability for a 2-year commitment.
