Our Client, a Medical Center company, is looking for a Patient Access Coordinator for their Dorchester, MA location.
 
Description:
  • Checking patients in and out when they arrive for medical appointments
  • Answering the phone to address patient inquiries and scheduling appointments
  • Documenting insurance information, personal information, payment methods and other important patient information
  • Updating patient files and appointment information accurately
  • Communicating information and important details to other medical care staff
  • Contacting insurance companies regarding coverage, preapprovals, billing and other issues
  • Processing payments from patients and handling billing issues between patients and insurance companies
  • Managing various types of paperwork and other clerical duties

Requirements:
  • Requires at least two years of relevant experience; preferably in admitting, medical office, managed care, insurance or customer service environment. Work requires ability to effectively speak, read and write English.
  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent
  • Multilingual skills (beyond that of English) is a plus.
  • Ability to accurately interpret and utilize medical terminology and abbreviations.
  • Ability to access and enter computerized data/information.
  • Ability to use and troubleshoot basic office equipment.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to interact appropriately with nursing staff, patients, families/visitors, physicians, and other hospital staff in a dynamic and challenging environment. Demonstrated competence in basic computer skills.
  • Organizational skills to effectively set priorities and efficiently complete assigned work.
  • Ability to effectively apply basic secretarial skills, e.g., typing, filing, telephone skills, etc.
  • Requires the ability to multitask and manage complex processes.
  • Requires ability to make independent decisions under pressure. Requires judgment, diplomacy, collaboration, and partnering, teamwork, and customer service skills.
