The Patient Access Educator is responsible for leading the training and development of all Patient Access team members. This role ensures employees are knowledgeable, confident, and compliant with Conway Medical Center policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices. The Educator develops training programs, mentors new and existing staff, monitors performance, and partners with leadership to improve patient experience, registration accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive onboarding and ongoing education programs for Patient Access staff.
Train new hires on registration workflows, insurances/ verification, scheduling, customer service, and cash collections.
Conduct competency assessments and skills evaluations to ensure staff readiness.
Develop and update training materials and job aids.
Coordinate orientation schedules and maintain training records.
Monitor registration quality through audits and provide coaching to improve accuracy.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, EMTALA, CMS regulations, Joint Commission standards, and Conway Medical Center policies.
Partner with department leadership to identify performance gaps and create improvement plans.
Serve as a subject matter expert for Patient Access systems and workflows.
Assist with implementation of new software, policies, and operational changes by developing and delivering training.
Facilitate classroom, virtual, and one-on-one training sessions.
Mentor trainers, team leads, and frontline staff to promote professional growth.
Track training metrics and report employee progress to leadership.
Support process improvement initiatives focused on patient satisfaction, revenue cycle accuracy, and operational excellence.
Participate in department meetings, committees, and special projects.
Maintain a positive, professional, and patient-centered environment.
Complete other duties as assigned by department leadership.
Teach frontline staff how to manage difficult interactions while consistently maintaining a welcoming, compassionate demeanor and a professional attitude.
Lead the onboarding process for new hires, creating a positive learning environment that fosters retention and skill building.
Equipping team members to break down complex medical jargon and insurance terms in simple understandable language for patients.
