Salary Range: $36.23- $49.96 Pay rates are determined based on experience and internal equity. Position Summary: The Patient Access Manager reports to the Director of Patient Access. The Patient Access Manager, in conjunction with the Director, is responsible for the day-to-day operation planning, coordinating all Registration, admitting and all clerical office duties. Job functions will be modified and improved as necessary to promote a team effort. Works well under stress or tight deadlines. Establishes and maintains effective, courteous, and respectful working relationships with patients, families, members of the medical and nursing staffs as well as co-workers. District Responsibility: Supports the District mission and values. Demonstrates respect, professionalism and courtesy to all patients, visitors, other providers and co-workers, as delineated in the LVMC Commitment to Care. Constantly use C-I-CARE principles when communicating with others. Participate in performance improvement activities. Engages in ongoing professional development. Position Duties/Responsibility: Manages specific administrative functions related to the daily operation of the registration staff. Develop guidelines for prioritizing work duties, evaluating effectiveness and modifying duties as necessary. Ensures that all work areas are staffed appropriately Monitor inpatient and outpatient Patient access functions are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Identifies, analyzes and resolves work problems Handles recruiting, hiring, orientation, development and evaluation of staff. Prepares and administers annual performance evaluations for staff Communicate with Patient Access Director related to evaluation, hiring and disciplining of employees based on job performance and LVMC/Lompoc Health policies. Manages and approves employee timecards. Ensures that patients are treated courteously by Registration staff by LVMC/Lompoc Health Customer Service protocols. Sets a professional example for staff adhering to LVMC/Lompoc Health policies and procedures. Conduct regular department staff meetings as well as attend management meetings. Maintains strict confidentiality in accordance with LVMC/Lompoc Health policies and procedures. Assist in other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Patient Access and Administration team. Position Qualifications: At least 3 years of leadership Experience of a healthcare facility. Minimum of Five years of successful experience in patient access. Interpersonal skills necessary for interacting and negotiating with physicians, staff, customers and Administration. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Skills/Ability: 1. Strong communication skills. 2. Knowledge of state and federal regulations. 3. Safety requirements. 4. Quality improvement principles. 5. Maintain records in an organized manner. 6. Maintain the departments CMS and California state accreditation. 7. Establishes and maintains effective, positive working relations with departmental employees, hospital staff, medical staff and patients. 8. Assures safe practices and techniques are used in the department. 9. Communicate policies to hospital and dietary employees.
