The Patient Service Representative (PSR) is responsible for obtaining patient demographics, insurance, and financial information, and applicable co-pays and deductibles for all scheduled patients prior to the date of service.

The PSR also verifies payer coverage of the services to be provided to the patient, pre-certifies the service with the payer, obtains any required pre-authorizations, and documents all information related to the certification/authorization.
The Patient Service Representative counsels patients on insurance and financial options, identifies billable third-party payers, and determines insurance priority and coordination of benefits. They act as a liaison to insurance companies, hospital departments, physician offices, and patients.
The Patient Service Representative will be responsible for providing customer service excellence in a professional and helpful manner at all times and serving as a resource for patients prior to services.
