Overview

Experienced in managing high-dollar outpatient service accounts, ensuring accurate financial reimbursement and seamless authorization processes for complex procedures. Skilled in end-to-end referral processing, registration, precertification, point-of-service collections, and Epic financial workflows. Provides thorough financial counseling, calculates patient responsibility, and secures required payer approvals through detailed clinical submissions and peer-to-peer coordination. Serves as a key representative for the Financial Division on cross-functional teams, offering financial insight to support treatment and scheduling decisions.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree or related coursework preferred.

Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience as a financial specialist/counselor or 3 years of related experience in a comparable role.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Working knowledge of medical and insurance industry terminology is required. • Proven ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, adapt to changing priorities, and make timely, accurate judgment decisions. • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with healthcare professionals. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Proficiency with computer applications and demonstrated ability to work across multiple systems. • Exceptional verbal, analytical, and written communication skills. • Must be adaptable, tactful, and able to work well under pressure. • Ability to perform effectively under stress, including during critical or unusual situations. • Must understand the importance of a "first impression" role and maintain appropriate professional dress, attitude, and demeanor.
