Patient Account Associate

Job Summary

Adventist Health Roseville is seeking a Patient Account Associate to handle medical billing, claims, collections, cash posting, adjustments, and denials for patient accounts. The candidate will work with patients, insurance payers, and internal departments to resolve billing issues and ensure accurate reimbursement.

Requirements

• Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent education/related experience Required
• 2+ years of healthcare billing experience Preferred
• Bachelor's Degree Preferred
• CPC (AAPC) certification Preferred
• Strong knowledge of medical billing and claims processing
• Experience with insurance payers, denials, collections, and account follow-up
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work remotely

Key Responsibilities

• Review, correct, and submit medical claims to insurance payers.
• Follow up on unpaid and denied claims and take corrective action.
• Communicate with patients, government agencies, and insurance companies.
• Process and post cash receipts, adjustments, and denials.
• Reconcile posted payments and billing data.
• Calculate write-offs and debit/credit adjustments.
• Work with coding and other departments to obtain information for claims and appeals.
• Handle past-due accounts and collections.
• Support team members as a billing process expert.
• Meet productivity and quality expectations.
• Perform other billing-related duties as assigned.
