Competitive wages and excellent benefits Modern Healthcares Best Places to Work - since 2012 A Worlds Best Hospital (Newsweek) Details: Weekdays only Full-time 40 hours per week - typically 8a-5p JOB SUMMARY: The Patient Assistance Coordinator supports patients by facilitating access to financial assistance programs and ensuring timely coordination of post-enrollment activities. This role provides compassionate guidance to patients navigating the financial aspects of care, while collaborating with clinical teams, financial sponsors, and technology platforms to streamline assistance processes and improve patient outcomes. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Graduate or equivalent and college degree preferred. Experience working in a medical office, healthcare system, or revenue cycle environment preferred. Knowledge of patient assistance programs, insurance basics, and healthcare financial processes preferred. Strong analytical, oral, and written communication skills. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrates empathy and ability to support patients in sensitive situations. Understanding of confidentiality, HIPAA compliance, and healthcare ethics. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook). Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to sit and maintain work focus for extended periods of time. Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time to meet necessary meeting, training, and work schedules. Must have adequate perception of sounds or adequate hearing with corrections. Able to speak clearly and distinctly with staff, physicians, patients, and families. Able to hear and converse with others on the phone. Demonstrates the ability to understand written instruction, make decisions and accomplish tasks in a high work volume environment to meet the necessary deadlines. Demonstrates adequate vision, or correctable with glasses/contacts, to read and prepare documents accurately. Possess motor skills and coordination to effectively use computers and office equipment.
