Overview:

The Patient Billing Representative plays an integral part of the patient care journey, ensuring patients leave the healthcare facility with a clear understanding of their medical care and financial responsibilities. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, managing the billing process efficiently, and facilitating a smooth transition for patients as they continue their treatment journey with CCRM Fertility

Responsibilities:

The Patient Billing Representative is responsible for managing the patient billing process, ensuring accurate billing, collecting payments, providing necessary instructions, and facilitating a seamless transition for patients billing. This role serves as a point of contact for patients, addressing inquiries and providing exceptional customer, and assisting inter-company customers with questions regarding insurance matters, current account status, and billing questions. The Patient Billing Representative reports to the RCM Supervisor.

 

  • Complete patient billing procedures including charge posting, payment posting, executing adjustments as appropriate, and special patient financial programs.
  • Respond to patient questions regarding their account; research self-pay and insurance account activity to provide accurate responses and required actions.
  • Conduct account audits, review and identify outstanding patient balances; attempt to collect and ensure all efforts are recorded in practice management system.
  • Accurately post charges for ART cycles and surgeries. Creates Scode claims
  • Verifies or updates insurance information.
  • Audit end of month scode reports.
  • Creates itemized receipts
  • Processes refunds request.
  • Review EMR to ensure all services rendered and diagnoses are properly coded properly.
  • Review, correct, and submit billing claims to the patient’s insurance provider.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ year medical billing experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in reproductive medicine or Women’s health preferred.
  • Prior experience with Athena preferred.
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays, on a rotating basis.
