Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Patient Care Coordinator to support daily clinic operations and provide an exceptional experience for patients. This individual will serve as a key point of contact by managing front office responsibilities, coordinating patient appointments, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring efficient communication between patients, providers, and clinic staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients while delivering professional and friendly customer service
- Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments while maintaining provider calendars and clinic flow
- Manage a high volume of inbound and outbound phone calls, addressing patient questions and directing inquiries appropriately
- Verify insurance eligibility and ensure accurate patient demographic and insurance information is entered into the system
- Process, review, and manage incoming and outgoing faxes in a timely manner
- Maintain and organize patient medical records while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance
- Enter and update patient information within electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Coordinate communication between patients, providers, and internal clinic teams to support continuity of care
- Assist with general administrative and clerical duties to support daily clinic operations
- Monitor and maintain appointment schedules to minimize gaps and optimize patient access
Required Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a healthcare, medical office, patient access, or care coordination setting preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Intermediate computer proficiency with the ability to navigate multiple systems efficiently
- Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes and medical office workflows preferred
