The Patient Care Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while coordinating appointments, maintaining accurate patient records, and supporting daily administrative operations. This role partners with patients, providers, referral sources, and internal teams to ensure a positive and seamless healthcare experience from scheduling through ongoing treatment.
 
Position Details:

  • Pay: $16-$22/hr
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday

Responsibilities
  • Answer inbound phone calls and assist patients with scheduling, appointment changes, and general inquiries.
  • Schedule evaluations, follow-up appointments, functional testing, and treatment visits.
  • Accurately enter patient demographics, insurance information, and other required documentation into company systems.
  • Verify referrals, authorizations, prescriptions, and plans of care prior to scheduling appointments.
  • Coordinate with therapists, referral sources, and internal departments to ensure continuity of patient care.
  • Explain insurance benefits and direct billing-related questions to the appropriate department.
  • Contact patients regarding missed appointments and assist with rescheduling.
  • Collect copays, deductibles, and other patient payments while maintaining accurate payment records.
  • Prepare daily payment balancing and deposit documentation.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Provide professional, compassionate customer service while assisting patients throughout their care journey.
  • Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.

  • Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and professional when handling challenging situations.
 
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with patient scheduling or medical front office operations.
  • Familiarity with insurance verification and medical referrals.
  • Experience collecting patient payments.
  • Ability to resolve patient concerns with professionalism and empathy.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
