The Patient Care Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for patients scheduled for spine surgery, guiding them through pre-operative preparation and post-operative recovery to ensure a coordinated, high-quality experience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate pre-operative workup, including testing, clearances, imaging, and surgical scheduling
- Educate patients on surgical procedures, expectations, and pre/post-operative care
- Serve as a liaison between patients, surgeons, APPs, anesthesia, and care teams
- Monitor patient readiness for surgery and support recovery follow-up
- Assist with prior authorizations, documentation, and care coordination
EDUCATION
Minimum: High school diploma or GED/HSE accredited by the State Board of Education and current Indiana Practical Nurse licensure.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in nursing science from an accredited nursing program accredited by a professional nursing accrediting body.
Qualifications:
- Current RN or LPN license in Indiana
- Experience in orthopedics, spine, or surgical services preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and patient-focused skills
EXPERIENCE
Minimum: Satisfactory completion of clinical experience while in nursing program.
Preferred: 1-2 years nursing experience in area of desired practice.
