The Radiology Call Center Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and scheduling patient appointments for radiology exams. This role supports continuity of care by ensuring accurate patient information, timely scheduling, and clear communication. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment and brings prior healthcare and inbound scheduling experience.
You will join the Radiology Contact Center team, working alongside two inbound schedulers dedicated to radiology appointments. The broader contact center includes additional schedulers who manage all incoming patient calls. Collaboration, communication, and efficiency are central to the team’s success.
Manage an average of 65–75+ inbound calls per day
Schedule radiology appointments and procedures accurately and efficiently
Maintain continuity of care through scheduling and tracking systems across all work queues
Obtain and verify patient demographics, insurance details, and other required information
Communicate clearly and professionally to ensure patient understanding
Work effectively in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment
Comply with all administrative policies and quality standards
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and OSHA requirements
Stay current on medical and departmental requirements
Attend all required Optum and departmental trainings
Healthcare‑related experience
Previous inbound scheduling experience (preferably in a medical setting)
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to multitask and manage high call volumes
High attention to detail and accuracy
Prior experience handling inbound call volume in a healthcare environment
Experience using Epic or similar electronic health record (EHR) systems
