    Full-Time

Are you organized, dependable, and someone who enjoys helping people feel welcome and cared for?

Eye Associates of New Mexico is seeking a full-time Patient Care Coordinator to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center team in Santa Fe. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with patients, staying organized in a busy environment, and being an important part of a collaborative healthcare team.

As a Patient Care Coordinator, you'll help patients navigate the administrative side of their surgical experience—from check-in and answering questions to preparing patient charts, coordinating records, and assisting with insurance and payment information. You'll work closely with patients and families as well as our nursing, scheduling, billing, and physician teams.

    What You'll Do

    In this role, you will:

    • Welcome and check in patients on the day of surgery
    • Serve as a helpful point of contact for patients and their families
    • Verify patient demographics and assist with collection of patient payments/co-pays
    • Work with the Billing Department on insurance verification and payment information
    • Prepare and organize patient charts for upcoming surgeries
    • Maintain surgery scheduling information and assist with same-day/add-on cases
    • Process and post payments and assist with daily balancing and deposits
    • Maintain and retrieve medical records, physician requests, dictations, and pathology documentation
    • Answer phones and communicate with patients, physicians, physician offices, and team members
    • Help keep information accurate, organized, and moving efficiently throughout the surgery center
    • Provide backup support in other administrative areas as needed

These responsibilities reflect the position's combination of patient service, financial processing, scheduling, and medical-record support.

    What We're Looking For

    Required:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Strong communication and customer service skills
    • Ability to stay organized and pay close attention to detail
    • Comfortable working with computers and learning healthcare systems
    • Ability to communicate professionally and positively with patients, coworkers, and physicians

    Preferred:

    • Knowledge of medical terminology
    • 2 years of healthcare experience

The formal job description identifies a high school diploma as required and medical terminology knowledge with two years of healthcare experience as preferred.
