Patient Care Experience for Nursing & Healthcare Students

At Always Best Care of Charleston, our caregivers support seniors one-on-one in the comfort of their homes. This position is ideal for local students pursuing nursing, pre-med, OT/PT, CNA certification, social work, or other healthcare-related careers who want hands-on experience that complements classes and clinical rotations.

Gain valuable patient-care experience, build confidence in working with older adults, and develop communication and caregiving skills that stand out on future applications.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a caregiver, you’ll provide support that helps seniors remain safe, comfortable, and independent at home. Responsibilities may include: 

• Medication reminders
• Assistance with mobility and walking
• Personal care and hygiene support
• Light housekeeping and meal preparation
• Running errands or grocery shopping
• Providing companionship and conversation
• Observing and reporting changes in condition 

What We’re Looking For:

We provide training, but ideal candidates are:

• Compassionate, patient, and dependable 
• Interested in healthcare or human services 
• Strong communicators with good time-management skills
• Physically able to assist clients safely
• High school graduates (or GED equivalent)
• Dependable with reliable transportation (required)
• Comfortable around pets 

Perks + Pay:

• $16–$18/hour, paid weekly
