Patient Care Specialist (PRN) – MPG Radiology
How will you make an impact & Requirements
The Patient Care Specialist plays a key role in ensuring smooth patient flow, accurate administrative processing, and exceptional customer service. This role supports a Radiology office that sees up to 50 patients per day, requiring strong multitasking skills and a calm, professional demeanor.
PRN / As Needed
Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Thursday
Office Closed Fridays
Pay: $20–$22 per hour
Experience Required: 1–2 years working in a healthcare front office
Patient Check‑In & Check‑Out — Greet patients, verify information, complete check‑in/out procedures, and ensure a smooth visit experience.
Phone Support & Scheduling — Answer calls, schedule appointments, and route inquiries appropriately.
Insurance Verification — Verify insurance coverage and ensure accurate documentation.
Copay Collection — Collect patient copays and process payments accurately.
EMR Documentation — Update patient records and follow established protocols for documentation and order initiation.
Customer Service — Provide friendly, professional support to patients and internal team members.
Referral & Records Processing — Process urgent specialist referrals, appointment ticklers, and urgent medical record release requests.
Billing Flag Awareness — Recognize and communicate outstanding balance indicators.
General Administrative Tasks — Faxing, scanning, filing, and other office duties.
HIPAA Compliance — Maintain secure, compliant handling of PHI; no unsecure emails, texts, or voicemail messages.
Clinical Competency — Maintain proficiency in practice‑specific workflows and standards.
Practice Manager Support — Assist with administrative tasks as assigned.
Team & Patient Service Excellence — Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and strong service skills.
Other Duties — Perform additional responsibilities as needed.
1–2 years of experience in a healthcare front office
Strong customer service and communication skills
Experience with insurance verification, scheduling, and EMR systems
Ability to multitask in a high‑volume Radiology setting
Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards
Professional, dependable, and team‑oriented
