The Patient Care Support Assistant (PCSA) is responsible for providing direct, non-clinical observation and support to assigned patients to promote safety, comfort, and a healing environment. This role may function as a one-to-one sitter, patient safety technician, or transporter in a variety of care settings. Under the supervision of a registered nurse, the PCSA helps prevent patient injury, supports basic needs, and promptly reports any changes in patient condition or behavior. High school diploma or equivalent required Additional coursework or certification in patient care, behavioral health, or nursing assistance preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Previous healthcare or patient care experience is a plus Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills Strong observation and situational awareness skills Ability to remain attentive and engaged for extended periods Compassion and empathy for patients Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Teamwork and collaboration Basic knowledge of patient care practices
