Job Title: Patient Care Technician- Med/Surg

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Care Technician to join our healthcare team. The PCT will assist nurses and other medical professionals by providing direct patient care, monitoring vital signs, assisting with daily living activities, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting).

  • Take and record vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.

  • Report changes in patient conditions to nursing staff promptly.

  • Perform basic medical procedures such as blood draws, EKGs, and catheter care under supervision.

  • Help patients with mobility and physical therapy exercises as directed.

  • Ensure patient rooms are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.

  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.

  • Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.

  • Document care and services provided in patient records.

  • Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Patient Care Technician program preferred.

  • CPR/BLS certification (required or must be obtained within a set period).

  • Experience in a healthcare setting is a plus.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations calmly.

  • Basic computer and documentation skills.

Work Environment:
