Job Summary and Qualifications

General Statement of Duties:

 This position is responsible for supporting technologists and/or physicians in patient care. In this role the

PCA will be involved in venipunctures, gathering patient history and scheduling exams in the radiology

information system. Duties include, but are not limited to, monitoring workflow to ensure a smooth and

timely start and completion of patient procedures. Establishes and maintains excellent working

relationships with personnel, physicians and external customers (i.e., patients, referring physicians and

respective staff).

 Essential Job Functions:

1.Prepare patient for examination; ensure history questionnaire is properly completed and assist

patient with questions they may have.

2.Start IV access with venipuncture when exam requires intravenous access.

3.Stock all linens and supplies in appropriate places.

4.Assist with scheduling exams.

5.Check request form for diagnosis and other exams that may be requested but not scheduled.

6.Assist with image uploads from outside media to radiology information system.

7.Reviewing patient schedules for the following work day.

8.Assist in monitoring patient flow within the facility and keeping leadership informed on wait

times or patient issues.

excellent customer service at all times.

2. Understands and is committed to helping South Texas Radiology Imaging Centers and its

associated facilities achieve its goals.

3. Must learn and comply with System and facility safety policies and rules; must use appropriate

safety equipment and procedures at all times; must immediately report all unsafe conditions to

supervisors; must be familiar with all safety features of equipment, tools or materials

encompassed by job duties; and must check with supervisors (prior to job performance) if there is

a question as to the safe procedure to be used for any job function.

4. Adheres to the STRIC Code of Conduct and demonstrates ethical behavior as expected by our

patients, colleagues and the community. Understands the personal obligation to report any

activity that appears to violate applicable laws, rules and regulations or the Code of Conduct

itself.

5. Completes other duties as assigned.

 Minimum Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum License and Certificates Required: BCLS upon hire
