    • Lovelace Women’s Hospital is a 53-bed advanced neonatal intensive care unit, family care unit, an award-winning breast care center, and the first robotic surgery program in the state recognized as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery by Surgical Review Corporation.

    Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT:

    Responsibilities:
    • Works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all duties of a PCT, which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
    • Observe patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurses or other medical staff.
    • Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
    • Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
    • Additionally, this position measures and records patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assists patients with range of motion, and draws blood.
    Qualifications:

    Job Requirements:

    • High School or GED.
    • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

    Preferred Job Requirements:

    • Experience in Phlebotomy or completion of a Phlebotomy course.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
    • 2 years’ experience in acute or long-term care
    • Knowledge of medical terminology.
    • Working towards approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic (EMT-P) certification
    • Currently enrolled in nursing school.
