Overview --------

Performs patient care tasks and basic patient care services under the direction of the professional registered nurse. Provides a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing in a manner that preserves and protects patient autonomy, dignity, and rights.

Responsibilities -----------------

• Communicates and collaborates with the professional registered nurse.
• Performs patient care tasks under the direction of the RN, including:
• Vital signs
• Blood glucose testing
• Phlebotomy
• Electrode placement
• Venous compression devices
• Performs basic patient care services under the direction of the RN, including:
• Height & actual weights
• Intake & output
• Retrieval of equipment & supplies
• Stocks patient rooms
• Maintains a conducive environment for the patient, including:
• Clutter-free rooms
• Removing linens
• Trash from rooms
• Quiet surroundings
• Supports patient/family communication needs, including:
• Answering call lights
• Orienting new patients to the room
• Assisting with discharge appointments
• Promotes safety, including:
• Assisting with patient mobility
• Safety rounds
• Promotes comfort, including:
• Providing water
• Ice
• Cups
• Pillows
• Blankets
• Assistance with meals
• Transports non-monitored patients
• Assists RN with monitored and/or intubated transports
• Performs other duties as assigned

Specifications --------------

### Experience

• Minimum Required: 1 year recent within past 6 months experience
• Preferred: Desired experience

### Education

• Minimum Required: High School Diploma GED or equivalent
• Preferred: Desired education

### Training

• Minimum Required: Preferred training

### Special Skills

• Minimum Required: Preferred special skills

### Licensure

• Minimum Required: CNA Program
• Certification or AEMT
• Paramedic Licensure
• Certification or MA Program
• Certification BLS CERTIFICATION WITHIN 14 DAYS OF HIRE
• Preferred: Desired licensure
