Job Overview

As a PCT on the Cardiac Renal Unit, your day will include assisting with hygiene, mobility, vital signs, documentation, and providing compassionate bedside care, including support for patients nearing the end of life. Your ability to stay focused, observant, and compassionate will make you an essential part of delivering safe, high‑quality care every day.

What You'll Gain

You'll gain specialized experience with patients experiencing heart failure, dysrhythmias, renal insufficiency/failure, unstable angina, MI, and pre‑open‑heart surgery needs. You'll learn how to support telemetry patients, recognize changes in patient status, and work alongside nurses trained in dysrhythmia and EKG interpretation. What You'll Do

• Assist with bathing, oral care, toileting, and linens
• Support safe mobility, repositioning, and transfers
• Monitor and record vital signs
• Document patient information accurately
• This role includes exposure to bodily fluids and sensitive patient situations
• Safely lift/move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

About the Cardiac Renal Unit

A 41‑bed unit caring for adults through geriatrics with cardiovascular and renal conditions requiring telemetry monitoring and close observation. Known for excellent teamwork, strong retention, and passion for teaching.

Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS) within six months
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of required PCT classes
