Job Summary: Performs a variety of duties involving the observation of cardiac monitors, interpretation and documentation of Cardiac Rhythm strips. Provides personal patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN).

 

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
  • Medical secretary/receptionist experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) American Heart Association: Required

Essential Functions:

  • Assists with patient care activities, as needed, under the guidance of the Charge Nurse or shift leader.
  • Maintains work area(s) and equipment through cleaning, stocking and ordering of supplies.
  • Takes and records vital signs, including pain scale according to established policies and procedures.
  • Performs clerical duties, including chart management and maintaining unit supplies and forms.
  • Manages front desk, assembling and maintaining medical charts.
  • Maintains work area(s) and equipment through cleaning, stocking and ordering of supplies.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
