Putnam Hospital, a 164-bed acute care hospital, has been serving the local community in Carmel, New York, for 60 years. Situated on a 150-acre wooded campus surrounded by lakes and waterways, we provide the essential services a community needs from their local hospital, including Emergency and Behavioral Health Services. Job Summary

• Performs nursing skills encompassing patient care and relative tasks under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse or a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Provides a safe, quiet, comfortable environment for patient visitors and employees.
• Demonstrates accountability for job responsibility and functions.
• Provides direct quality care and service to patients of all ages under the directions of the Unit Manager/designee.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate
• Licensure/Registration/Certification: BLS credentialing
• Work Experience: Recent experience as a nurse aide, phlebotomist, or EKG technician preferred.

Working Conditions

• Manual Skills: Significant manual skills, motor coordination & finger dexterity.
• Occupational Risk: Significant occupational risk.
• Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force.
• Physical Environment: Significant exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
