Are you passionate about caring for patients and supporting families during one of the most important experiences of their lives? As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) in the Obstetrics Unit at The Womens Hospital, youll play an essential role in providing compassionate, patient-centered care to mothers, newborns, and families throughout their childbirth journey.

Working alongside a highly skilled team of nurses and healthcare professionals, youll help create a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for growing families while gaining valuable experience in a specialized area of healthcare.

What Youll Do

As a valued member of the care team, youll provide hands-on support that promotes comfort, safety, and positive patient experiences. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting patients with personal care needs, including bathing, oral hygiene, toileting, and linen changes
• Supporting patient mobility, repositioning, and transfers
• Monitoring and documenting vital signs and patient observations
• Accurately recording important information in patient charts
• Providing compassionate emotional support to patients and families throughout their hospital stay

• Caring for both routine and high-risk pregnancies in a highly specialized environment
• Supporting patients through labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care
• A modern obstetrical unit featuring 28 private Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) rooms, 10 antepartum rooms, and 2 observation rooms
• A single-room maternity care model that promotes continuity of care and enhanced patient experiences
• Couplet care, allowing mothers and newborns to remain together while receiving coordinated care
• Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to support patients with unique medical and obstetrical needs
• A strong commitment to family-centered care that addresses the emotional, physical, and psychosocial needs of each family

Qualifications

Required:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification within six months of hire

Preferred:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
