Job Title: Patient Care Technician (PCT)
Location: Portland, OR
Duration: Full-Time Contract
Schedule: Night Shift – Sunday through Thursday
Hours: 5x8-Hour Shifts
Compensation:
- Pay Rate: $24.00/hour (W2)
Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide direct care and support to residents in a long-term care and assisted living environment. The ideal candidate will assist with daily living activities, support individualized care plans, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to promote resident safety, comfort, and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.
- Provide compassionate care and support while maintaining resident dignity and independence.
- Observe, monitor, and report changes in resident condition to nursing and healthcare staff.
- Assist with implementing individualized care plans and service plans.
- Coordinate daily care activities with fellow Patient Care Technicians and interdisciplinary team members.
- Participate in resident admissions, orientations, and transitions of care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of resident care and services provided.
- Promote a safe, clean, and supportive living environment.
- Support resident mobility, comfort, and overall well-being.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members.
- Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing training activities as required.
Required Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Licensure & Certifications
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) Certification required.
Experience
- Minimum one (1) year of experience working with seniors required.
- Experience in long-term care, assisted living, memory care, or senior living environments preferred.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage responsibilities effectively.

- Reliable transportation required.
- Availability to work scheduled weekends as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electronic medication administration records (eMAR), including QuickMAR.
- Experience using electronic charting and healthcare documentation systems.
