Patient Care Technician (Per Diem)

A healthcare organization in Central New York is actively seeking a new Patient Care Technician (PCT) for a Per Diem position at one of their facilities in Hamilton County.

About the Opportunity:

• Schedule: Sept 15th to Sept 17th and Oct 27th to Oct 29th and Nov 3rd to Nov 5th
• Hours: 7am to 7pm
• Department: Medical-Surgical

Responsibilities:

• Provide personal hygiene to patients, including bathing; dressing; toileting; hair care; shaving; and, personal & dental hygiene assistance
• Assure patients are properly and comfortably clothed
• Obtain and record vital signs per policy
• Accurately document care provided in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Report abnormal vital signs to the charge nurse/bedside nurse per policy
• Assist with simple range-of-motion activities
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Assist with fall prevention measures per patient care plan, including responding to alarms
• Follow safe patient handling guidelines to position and mobilize patients
• Safely transfer patients utilizing approved lifting equipment
• Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

• 6+ months of relevant work experience
• High School Diploma / GED
• BLS certification
• Computer-savvy and Data Entry skills
• Great interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong attention to detail
• Highly organized

Desired Skills:

• Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree
• Experience in a Patient Care role
• Phlebotomy experience
