    Description

    The Patient Care Technician position on G17- Stem Cell Transplantation & Cellular Therapy unit at MD Anderson Cancer Center provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse, and directly impacts patient comfort and outcome of care.

    Ideal candidate must have a high school diploma and either one year of recent experience in an acute care setting as a Nursing Assistant or a CNA certification.

    This unit offers 3-12/hour shifts working from 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am with rotating weekends and holidays. Weekends are considered Saturday and Sunday.

    The Inpatient Stem Cell Transplant & Cellular Therapy unit is a 48 bed unit and is one of our designated immunotherapy floors, administering research protocols involving immunotherapy and CARTOX therapy to patients, including Phase 1 clinical trials. As such, our staff receive additional training to develop the skills needed to provide exceptional care to patients receiving this progressive therapy.

    Hourly breakdown of salary range:

    Minimum $16.59 - Midpoint $20.72 - Maximum $24.76

    Essential Job Functions:

    Acts as member of a multidisciplinary team that identifies and addresses patient care needs. Assists in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, admit/discharge and obtaining vital signs. Updates and retrieves patient information. Ensures patient environment is maintained in a clean, safe and orderly manner. Acts as part of an assigned care team.
